Where is Gaga's SherBetter made?
We began making GAGAS at Bliss Bros. Ice Cream in Attleboro Massachusetts in the Spring of 2003.
We had a production room right next to a huge freezer that's constantly at 25 degrees below zero.
The freezer is 8,000 square feet and you can only go in there for a couple of minutes unless you are dressed like an Eskimo.
We were making small batches with a 40 quart Emery Thompson batch freezer. However, because of increased demand for Gaga’s SherBetter we are now producing all flavors at Perry’s Ice Cream in Akron, NY. Perry’s is a family run business and they give special “TLC” to our small but growing product line! Check out Perry’s website at www.perrysicecream.com
How did you come up with the name ![]()
You can thank the Rhode Island Department of Health. The original name was
GAGA'S HOMEMADE
Lemon Sherbet but the health department said we could not call it
homemade because it's not made at home so we changed the name to GAGA'S ORIGINAL.
The Health Department then said we could not call it a SHERBET because it
had just a wee bit more butter fat than a sherbet. We can't call it an ICE
CREAM because it has a lot LESS fat than an ice cream. Since GAGA always
called it a sherbet we said o.k. we'll call it
because
it's better than sherbet and the Health Department agreed! We knew they would
because they must have tried it!
How many flavors of SherBetter are there?
We have just introduced two new flavors! Gaga's Orange SherBetter and Gaga's Chocolate SherBetter. These two new flavors join our Original Lemon and our second flavor Raspberry. So right now we have 4 mouthwatering flavors which should satisfy most everyone's taste buds.
